Scott Shotter, a franchise veteran, has been named Chief Operating Officer of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. With nearly 150 franchised and corporate-owned locations in 17 states, the Texas-based restaurant group is known for its Baja-style fare.
Before Fuzzy, Shotter was the President of Condado Tacos and CEO of Backyard Burgers. Shotter and Fuzzy’s Taco Shop CEO Paul Damico previously worked at Moe’s Southwest Grill as Vice President and CEO, respectively, and together led to brand’s explosive growth from 200 to 700 units between 2009 and 2016.
Paul Damico, the Fuzzy’s Taco Shop CEO, describes Scott as a seasoned restaurant industry veteran and a highly skilled operator. With Fuzzy’s ambitious growth plans, it makes sense to bring on someone with extensive experience in franchised brands and rapid expansion. Scott’s experience is a perfect match for the operational leadership role at Fuzzy’s that we were looking to fill.
Shotter describes one of his primary goals as COO in his first few months as developing relationships and trusts with Fuzzy’s Taco Shop franchisees. He asserts that his primary objective is franchisee success, as franchisee success directly correlates to the company’s success.
Shotter’s primary goal as the brand grows is to maintain the unique Fuzzy experience. Fuzzy is unique in Shotter’s opinion because it combines a fast-casual concept with a full-bar approach. Fuzzy’s model provides guests with a convenient casual experience while serving delectable food prepared daily in-house.
Shotter’s role also includes a strong emphasis on preserving the brand’s culture. According to Shotter, Fuzzy is known for its relaxed atmosphere and chill vibes. That is why our fans adore us. Maintaining the brand’s ‘badass culture’ as they add new franchisees will be a critical part of Shotter’s role.
Finally, Scott Shotter intends to establish the infrastructure, processes, and procedures necessary to position Fuzzy’s Taco for growth over the next five years.
